Aumio is a mindfulness and sleep app for children. Through mindful storytelling and playful exercises we empower children to grow up healthy, confident and less stressed.
Aumio introduces children to the topic of mindfulness in a playful way. More than 18 hours of child-friendly listening experiences in form of meditations, relaxation and sleep stories, but also dream sounds and yoga journeys for kids are waiting to be discovered. In each story, children go together with the space creature Aumio on an exploration tour through their inner cosmos. Each galaxy is about a special feeling or challenge that children learn to deal with here.
Aumio is for all children aged 0-99. When developing our content, we focused specifically on children between the ages of 3-12. However, this does not exclude younger and older children from using it. Find out if your child likes Aumio by trying out our free stories and exercises.
Half of all mental health problems originate in those under the age of 14. Learning the techniques of mindfulness at an early age helps children grow up healthy and internally strengthened in a very fundamental way. This strength also prevents them from suffering from depression or anxiety in the course of their life.
However, mindfulness does not only have a long-term effect, but is already noticeable in everyday life. Among other things, Aumio helps children to deal with strong emotions such as anger, fear or shyness, to concentrate or to fall asleep better. Does any of this apply? Then simply try it out!
Sure! Parents often have exciting conversations with their children after a mission with Aumio. Parents not only learn something about mindfulness and their own feelings, but also get to know their own children from a completely new perspective.
Our world is becoming faster and more stressful. So many stimuli are pouring unfiltered onto children. Learning strategies early on to find peace and quiet helps to deal with this. But particularly also in order not to lose contact with our feelings and thoughts in the face of all the external noise. We experience that especially children are very open and receptive to the ideas of mindfulness. It is in their nature to explore the world alertly and playfully. Aumio encourages this curiosity! And redirects it to get to know themselves a little better.
Sometimes it takes more than one attempt. If your child tends to react negatively to direct suggestions from you, try something a little more restrained. Simply play the app on his or her cell phone and let him or her try it out – without us parents and without any pressure. This freedom of choice often already helps and most children have become Aumio fans after all. (You do not always want to listen to your parents – that’s annoying at some point ;))
We protect your privacy and do not ask for data from your children. To use Aumio, you do not have to create an account, enter an e-mail address or enter a password. However, no direct individual conclusions about you as an Aumionauti are possible.
Not necessarily. With an Aumio subscription, you can download all missions – even complete courses – to your device and listen to them offline. So the journey can continue even in wireless holes!

Aumio was developed with children for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Some stories are aimed at pre-school children, while other stories and everyday examples are aimed at children of primary school age and up to grade 6. However, this does not exclude older children. The easiest way to find out if and how Aumio works in your class is to try it out for yourself.
Aumio can be integrated into everyday school life in various ways: At the beginning or end of class, in phase changes in your lessons, in physical education, or in your mindfulness or yoga club. One exercise lasts between 5 and 10 minutes. Having a routine is very important for a functioning mindfulness practice. So it is best to determine for yourself and your students when and where you will meditate together on a regular basis.
Our school pack will provide you with a practice plan and with a list of exercises to help you get started with Aumio. The exercises from the introduction course are the most suitable. However, you can also choose exercises from other topics. It is best to assess for yourself which topics are of interest to your class and how well your students are already familiar with mindfulness techniques.
Home schooling presents a whole new set of challenges for teachers and students. Aumio as a digital tool is ideal for home schooling or as a stand-alone relaxation between lessons. You can recommend Aumio as an app to parents and students.
With an annual or monthly Aumio subscription, you can download all content to your device and listen offline. You can also download complete courses. The best thing to do is to download the exercises to your smartphone or tablet when you are preparing your lessons.
Mindfulness exercises should not be mandatory. If a child does not want to participate, that is okay. It is best to ask the student to stay quiet during the exercise in order not to disturb the other children. Perhaps an alternative task that the student can do during the exercise will help.
If you would like to use Aumio on all tablets in a class or school, you can request a no-obligation offer here: Aumio Schullizenz.
